Cancellations & Refunds
All payments are subject to the conditions below. We encourage you to contact us before making any payment if you have questions about commitment or scheduling.
5.1 — Cancellation by Student
- Before lessons commence: A full refund (less a 10% administrative fee) will be issued if written notice is received before any practical lesson has taken place.
- After lessons commence: No refund will be given for lessons already delivered. A partial credit (pro-rated for unused lessons) may be considered at management's discretion on a case-by-case basis.
- NTSA fees (PDL, TDB): These are government fees and are non-refundable regardless of circumstances.
5.2 — Course Deferral
If you are unable to continue your course due to medical or other serious circumstances, you may request a deferral of up to 6 months. Supporting documentation may be required. Deferrals are subject to availability and management approval.
5.3 — Cancellation by Prime Motor
We reserve the right to cancel a course due to insufficient enrolment, instructor unavailability, force majeure, or other operational reasons. In such cases, we will offer a full refund or alternative arrangement at our earliest convenience.
5.4 — NTSA Test Failure
Course fees do not guarantee a pass on the NTSA examination. Re-test fees payable to NTSA are the student's responsibility. We may offer discounted re-training sessions subject to availability.
Student Conduct
All students are expected to behave in a manner that is safe, respectful, and conducive to learning. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Reporting to a lesson under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs judgement or reaction time.
- Using a mobile phone while operating a vehicle during training.
- Verbal or physical abuse of instructors, other students, or staff.
- Wilful damage to training vehicles or institute property.
- Providing false information during enrolment or on any official documentation.
- Smoking or vaping in training vehicles or on premises where prohibited.
Prime Motor reserves the right to immediately withdraw a student from a lesson or course — without refund — if they violate the above conduct rules or pose a safety risk to themselves or others.
Scheduling & Attendance
7.1 — Session Booking
Practical lessons are scheduled by mutual agreement between the student and the assigned instructor. Lessons are available Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and Saturday (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
7.2 — Cancellations by Student
If you are unable to attend a scheduled lesson, please notify us as soon as possible and no later than 2 hours before the lesson. Lessons missed without adequate notice may be forfeited without replacement at the instructor's discretion.
7.3 — Weather and Safety
Prime Motor may reschedule or cancel lessons in the event of extreme weather conditions, road closures, or other safety hazards. We will notify you as promptly as possible and reschedule at no additional cost.
7.4 — Vehicle Availability
Practical lessons are conducted in dual-control training vehicles maintained to high safety standards. In the event of a mechanical issue, we will reschedule your lesson and notify you immediately.
NTSA Tests & Licensing
Our courses are designed to prepare you for NTSA examinations. However:
- We do not guarantee that a student will pass the NTSA theory or practical examination.
- NTSA examination dates, locations, and procedures are controlled solely by NTSA and are subject to change without our control.
- All government-mandated fees (PDL, TDB, licence fees) are the student's responsibility.
- Mock tests and theory preparation sessions are provided in good faith as supplementary material; they do not constitute NTSA examinations.
- Any misrepresentation of credentials to NTSA is a criminal matter and Prime Motor accepts no liability for consequences arising from such acts.
We will assist eligible students with the NTSA test booking process but cannot be held responsible for delays or failures within the NTSA system.
Insurance Brokerage Services
Prime Motor operates an IRA-regulated insurance brokerage division. The following terms apply specifically to insurance services:
9.1 — Role as Broker
We act as an intermediary between you and insurance companies. We do not underwrite insurance policies. The insurance contract is solely between you and the insurer selected.
9.2 — Accuracy of Information
You are legally required to disclose all material facts accurately to the insurer. Any non-disclosure or misrepresentation may render your policy void and could constitute fraud. Prime Motor bears no liability for policies voided due to your inaccurate disclosures.
9.3 — Claims
We will assist you with claims documentation and follow-up as a service to you. However, the final decision on any insurance claim rests entirely with the insurer, subject to IRA regulations and the policy terms.
9.4 — Premium Negotiation
We will endeavour to negotiate competitive premium rates on your behalf, but cannot guarantee a specific rate. Final premiums are set by insurers.
9.5 — Regulatory Oversight
Our insurance brokerage activities are regulated by the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) of Kenya. Complaints relating to insurance services may be directed to the IRA at www.ira.go.ke.
